The Preventive Medicine and Public Health Interest Group (PMPHIG) at FIU HWCOM will aim to foster social accountability among students interested in preventing disease and injury, advancing initiatives in public health, and reducing health disparities. The organization strives to encourage students to view healthcare from an integrative perspective to improve health outcomes within our local community as well as on a wider scale. Students interested in pursuing a residency in preventive medicine and addressing the social determinants of health will have opportunities to connect with leaders in public health through service-learning efforts, guest lectures, and professional development.
