The College of Medicine offers the unique opportunity for medical students in the third period of medical study to apply to the combined M.D. and Healthcare MBA (M.D./HCMBA), M.D. and Master of Public Health (M.D./M.P.H.), or the M.D. and Master of Science in Health Informatics and Analytics (M.D./MSHIA) degree programs.
Combined degree students complete the first three years of coursework in the M.D .degree program at the College of Medicine. At the beginning of the fourth period of their medical study, students admitted to a combined program pause their medical studies and begin classes as part of the HCMBA, M.P.H., or MSHIA programs at the FIU College of Business or the FIU Stempel College of Public Health and Social Work.
In addition, the college offers a 7-year B.S./M.D. Accelerated Pathway Program designed for exceptional high school students. Participants complete three years of undergraduate study followed by four years in the M.D. program, expediting their path to becoming physicians.
