NeighborhoodHELP
The Green Family Foundation Neighborhood Health Education Learning Program (NeighborhoodHELP) is the platform for our community-engaged mission emphasizing social accountability and interprofessional household-centered care.
Through this novel program, medical students are immersed in the community as members of interprofessional teams, which may include nursing, social work, physician assistant students and law students based on each household’s identified needs.
What We Do
Community engagement is central to our curriculum, giving students firsthand insight into how social determinants influence health outcomes.
We host and attend community events across South Florida, providing health education, preventive care and screenings to diverse patient populations.
We provide preventive care, primary care, telehealth services, and behavioral and mental health support.
Research
We engage communities with limited access to care. Our research drives initiatives across South Florida to help researchers, healthcare providers,and community members make informed care decisions that improve health outcomes.
Household Visits
NeighborhoodHELP household visits provide a unique opportunity to build meaningful relationships with families and better understand the social, environmental, and health factors that influence well-being.
Through regular visits, our team conducts health assessments, provides health education, identifies barriers to care, and connects household members with appropriate healthcare and community resources. These visits help ensure families receive the support they need to improve health outcomes and quality of life.
