The purpose of this chapter is to improve health outcomes through the achievement of a sustainable environment, the reduction of violence and its causes, and eliminating of nuclear power. The goal of PSR is to improve the local community by encouraging environmental conservation and advocating against climate change from a health perspective. This organization is committed to encouraging participation by all students, and this chapter’s purposes are consistent with the purposes of the PSR national organization. The PSR at FIU is affiliated with the Florida Chapter of Physicians for Social Responsibility through collaboration with physicians in Florida who are members of PSR.
