Medical History Interest Group

Faculty Advisor: Tracy Cassagnol, M.D.

The Medical History Interest Group (MHIG) allows interested medical students to develop relationships and networking opportunities with graduate law students, graduate public health students, and healthcare professionals and to further their educational and professional development by understanding the context of medicine’s development as a profession. Through interactive discussions and networking, students can develop a sense of the evolution of science and medicine and its impacts on contemporary medicine. By including an augmentation to curricula through historical context, the mission of MHIG is to foster a more sophisticated understanding of the advances and dilemmas in current medicine as well as the social and scientific possibilities of the future.
