The Food as Medicine (FAM) Interest Group aims to create and offer collaborative interprofessional opportunities to advance nutrition knowledge, practice, and research among FIU students.
We combine medicine and nutrition to create an exciting and unique platform that increases our medical students' understanding of nutritional sciences and encourages them to integrate them into their future medical practice. FAM promotes a holistic approach to medicine that is preventative and ultimately optimizes patient outcomes and their quality of life, reducing the chronic disease burden in South Florida.
