MD Program Tuition Refund
Medical students needing to withdraw from a term or the program must meet with the Office of Financial Assistance to understand their financial and financial aid implications.
During this meeting, Financial Assistance will review the student’s file and based on the dates, their eligibility for a refund and/or responsibility to return any financial aid funds will be determined.
Withdrawing can also affect future financial aid eligibility based on the academic progress criteria.
Return of Title IV Deadline for Financial Aid Recipients
If you do not complete all the courses you were scheduled to attend during the semester, your financial aid award may be reduced or canceled. You may also be required to return a portion of the aid awarded.
Students must attempt at least 60 percent of the term to be eligible for the funds received at the beginning of that term.
Tuition and Fees Refund
100 percent of tuition and fees are refunded if a student officially withdraws or is dismissed from the Wertheim College of Medicine in writing before the last day of Orientation (for students in Period one) or the last day of the first week of classes of each term during which tuition is applied (for students in Periods 2, 3 and 4).
50 percent of tuition is refunded if a student officially withdraws or is dismissed in writing before the end of the fourth week of classes of each term during which tuition is applied. Fees are not refunded.
25 percent of tuition is refunded if a student officially withdraws or is dismissed in writing between the beginning of the fifth week and the end of the sixth week of classes of each term during which tuition is applied. Fees are not refunded.
No refund is available after the end of the sixth week of classes of each term during which tuition is applied.
