Accepted Students

Congratulations on your acceptance to HWCOM! There is still a lot to do before you start class in July, and we want to help you get off to a great start. Here is valuable information to help guide you through the process! Please check this website periodically for updates.

Pre-Matriculation

Information regarding Pre-Matriculation Requirements will be communicated mid-May. All Pre-Matriculation eForms are available for completion on MyFIU.

Freshman Onboarding

Freshman Onboarding is designed to help you make a smooth transition into medical school. During this first week, prior to the start of classes, you will learn about our medical school curriculum, policies, and procedures, get to know your fellow classmates, and become familiar with campus resources and services. It is our goal that by the time you leave onboarding, you’ll be well on your way to becoming a successful HWCOM medical student.

Freshman Onboarding for the Class of 2028 will take place from Monday, July 29, 2024, to Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 8 AM - 5 PM. The final agenda will be communicated to you and your classmates at the beginning of July. Attendance is mandatory for all onboarding activities. The dress code is business attire as incoming students will have their professional photograph taken during Freshman Onboarding.

The White Coat Ceremony for the Class of 2028 will take place on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 10 AM in the Graham Center Ballrooms located on the FIU Modesto A. Maidique Campus. Due to space limitations, each student will only be allotted three guest tickets. Students do not need a ticket. The link for tickets will open the week before Freshman Onboarding. The event will be live streamed for guests that are unable to attend.
