Congratulations on your acceptance to FIU Medicine! There is still a lot to do before you start class in July, and we want to help you get off to a great start. Here is valuable information to help guide you through the process! Please check this website periodically for updates.

Pre-Matriculation

Information regarding Pre-Matriculation Requirements will be communicated mid-May. All Pre-Matriculation eForms are available for completion on MyFIU.

First-Year Orientation

First-Year Orientation is designed to help you transition smoothly into medical school. Held the week before classes begin, orientation introduces you to the FIU Medicine curriculum, policies and procedures, and campus resources and services. You will also have the opportunity to connect with your classmates. By the end of orientation, you will be well positioned to begin your medical education at FIU Medicine.

First-Year Orientation for the Class of 2030 will take place during the week of July 27, 2026. Additional details and updates will be shared as they become available. Attendance at all orientation activities is mandatory. The White Coat Ceremony is scheduled for Friday, July 31, 2026.

  • FIU Account

    FIU Account is the university's central authentication system. It will manage your online identity at FIU. To obtain your Panther ID, username and password, visit FIU Account and click Support.

  • FIU email account

    Med Students get an Office 365 email. It is important that you keep your email account current (delete unnecessary messages) in order to keep important messages from being rejected due to lack of space in your Inbox.

    • Not only can you access your email through Outlook, but you could also go directly to: https://mail.fiu.edu/
    • Email accounts will be available in June. You will receive an email from the Office of Admissions when your email account is ready for use.
  • Discounted software

    FIU University Technology Services establishes license agreements that allow students to purchase copies of major software applications at discounted prices. To purchase software online, visit Panther Tech.

  • FIU Onecard and medical ID badge

    The FIU Onecard serves as your student ID and ATM card if you choose to open a Wells Fargo account with FIU. This card will also grant you door access to medical school resources, the library, the recreation center, and athletics events and can also serve as a meal pass. More information is forthcoming regarding your FIU Onecard and medical ID badge.

  • Parking

    A student virtual parking permit is available to currently enrolled students who want to park a vehicle on campus. A transportation access fee is assessed to all students per semester as part of their enrollment fees except for students registered for a fully online degree program. Students using tuition waivers or otherwise classified as exempt.
