In an effort to secure highly-qualified students, the FIU HWCOM participates in the Early Decision Program in conjunction with the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).
Students seeking Early Decision admission must apply only to FIU HWCOM on AMCAS by the deadline. Early Decision candidates must meet the following minimum academic criteria:
- Overall GPA 3.70
- BCPM 3.50
- MCAT 510 (combined score)
All materials must be received on or before the deadline. This includes:
- Completion and receipt of the verified AMCAS application
- Completion and receipt of the HWCOM Secondary Application
- Receipt of three letters of recommendation
Interviews for selected Early Decision candidates will take place during the month of September. Early Decision applicants will be notified of the FIU HWCOM's admission decision by October 1 of the application year. Accepted students are then obligated to attend the FIU HWCOM if offered acceptance under the Early Decision Program.
If not accepted under the Early Decision Program, applicants will be automatically placed in the regular admission applicant pool for further consideration. AMCAS will be notified and the applicant may then apply through AMCAS to additional schools.
