FIU Medicine participates in the AAMC Early Decision Program, offering applicants an opportunity to secure an early decision and take the next step in their medical education journey with confidence.
Students seeking Early Decision admission must apply only to FIU Medicine on AMCAS by the deadline. Early Decision candidates must meet the following minimum academic criteria:
- Overall GPA 3.70
- BCPM 3.50
- MCAT 510 (combined score)
All materials must be received on or before the deadline. This includes:
- Completion and receipt of the verified AMCAS application
- Completion and receipt of the FIU Medicine Secondary Application
- Receipt of three letters of recommendation
Interviews for selected Early Decision candidates take place in September, and admission results are announced by October 1 of the application year. Those accepted through the Early Decision Program must enroll at FIU Medicine.
Applicants not accepted through Early Decision are automatically moved to the regular applicant pool for consideration. At that point, AMCAS is notified, and applicants may apply to additional schools.
