Free CME!

The HWCOM offers several opportunities for free CME. The Aquifer Cases are for pediatricians, internists, and family physicians – we’ve even had faculty use these to prepare for recertification exams! The FIU HWCOM Online Teaching Modules are 10 minute modules developing you to be a clinical educator. The Henry Stewart Talks offer a plethora of talks on various topics.

  • Aquifer Cases

You, our preceptors, have the opportunity to earn free CME hours, by completing fmCASES, CLIPP and SIMPLE online. These are online, evidence-based, self-directed learning modules that our students may complete in their clerkships. Thus, you may obtain CME for cases in your field: fmCASES for family physicians, CLIPP for pediatricians, and SIMPLE for internists.

    • On the Henry Stewart Talks webpage (via our FIU library), register by clicking Register to earn CME credit near the top of the page.
    • They have over 1500 lectures online and you can earn CME hours by listening to them. You need to look at which ones are CME approved. If they are for CME, there will be a pink “CME” by the title. Just complete the quiz for CME credit.

Perks!

As a voluntary or clinical faculty, you have access to discounts from hundreds of local and national vendors. Receiving your discounts is easy. Most vendors just need to see your FIU One Card or offer an online coupon code. However, be sure to read each discount carefully, as they may not apply to everyone or have specific requirements. This website will be updated on a regular basis so checking in periodically on the webpage will keep you up to date. View Employee Perks and Services, go to this site and click on "Local Vendors".
