The Office of Learning and Teaching has developed online, open-access faculty development modules, available to permanent and voluntary faculty both on- and off-campus. Completion of each module awards 1 CME credit at no cost to the faculty member.
Faculty Development Modules
Module 1: Narrative Evaluations of Student Performance
Learning Outcome: Faculty members will write narrative evaluations that describe effectively and concretely student performance in the clinical setting.
Module 2: Orientation to Clerkship Teaching
Learning Outcomes: In order to meet the needs of third year medical students entering clerkships at FIU HWCOM, faculty will outline the knowledge and skills students have when they arrive to a clinical site, list the learning outcomes for their clinical rotation, and explain their role in teaching FIU HWCOM students.
Module 3: Feedback in Clinical Teaching
Learning Outcomes: Through self-reflection and communication techniques, faculty members will be able to deliver effective feedback that contributes to improved student performance.
