How to Apply

The admissions cycle opens on April 25, 2024, and ends on January 15, 2025. Applications are reviewed continuously until the cohort is filled.

  • Step 1

MPAS utilizes the Central Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA).

Applicants are required to complete the CASPA application for Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine Master in Physician Assistant Studies.

    • CASPA application opens on April 25, 2024, and closes on January 15, 2025.
    • Applications need to be verified by CASPA by January 15, 2025, to be considered.

Applicants should ensure all documentation is submitted to CASPA prior to January 15, 2025, as verification can take up to 30 days and only verified applications will be evaluated.

    • Transcripts for prerequisite courses completed after submission need to be uploaded and grades need to be self-reported in CASPA application and unofficial transcripts emailed to paschool@fiu.edu before January 15th

(For questions concerning the CASPA application visit CASPA FAQs or contact CASPA at (617) 612-2080).

  • Step 2

Applicants are required to complete the FIU supplemental application and pay the supplemental application fee of $30.

Note: my.fiu.edu accounts are only active when you are matriculated into the MPAS program. There is no need to submit additional documents as the program evaluates only documents received in CASPA.

  • Step 3

All applicants applying to the Master in Physician Assistant Studies program at Florida International University are required to complete an online suite of assessments (Altus Suite), to assist with our selection process for the 2024-2025 Application Cycle.

Altus Suite consists of a two-part online assessment of non-cognitive skills, interpersonal characteristics, and personal values and priorities that we believe are important for successful students and graduates of our program. Altus Suite will complement the other tools that we use for applicant screening. In implementing Altus Suite, we are trying to further enhance fairness and objectivity in our selection process.

    Altus Suite consists of:

    • Casper: a 60-90 minute online situational judgment test (SJT)

You will register for Altus Suite for the US Professional Health Sciences test (CSP-10101).

Access the Take Altus website to create an account and review important dates and requirements information.

Note: CASPer scores must be received for your application to be considered.

The last day to take the CASPer exam for the 2024-2025 application cycle is December 2024 (TBD).

  • Step 4

After the interview the Admissions Committee will cumulate scores, review and evaluate the applications and select the students for the class.

Applications will be evaluated on a continuous basis until the class is selected.

  • Step 5

Selected students receive conditional letters of acceptance and are recommended to University Graduate School (UGS) for admission to the program. Upon completion of the UGS process, students will receive their official acceptance letter and other matriculation information.

Upon receipt of the official acceptance letter, matriculated students are required to pay the non-refundable Professional Development Seminar seat deposit fee of $715.
