Carlos Pavan serves as a lab manager in both the Dimitroff Lab and the Chandler Lab. He has been an instructor in pharmacology for nearly 20 years, teaching undergraduate and graduate students. In 2013, Pavan served as a technical manager at the National Laboratory for Research and Service in Peptides and Proteins and Mass Spectrometry (LANAIS PROEM).
While working on his Ph.D., he used mass spectrometry techniques to study nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. He is proficient in mass spectrometry, HPLC and protein sequencing by Edman degradation.
