Dr. Marcia Varella is a pediatrician, neonatology fellow, and clinical epidemiologist. She teaches epidemiology and evidence-based medicine concepts and serves as a content and methodological mentor to research projects of medical students in various fields. As a result of her mentorship, students have presented their scientific work in prestigious national meetings and published in peer-reviewed journals.
Before joining FIU Medicine, she served as a faculty member at the medical school of Unigranrio University and attending physician in neonatal intensive care units in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
