Dr. Amalia Landa-Galindez participates in recruiting faculty, the organization of internal medicine clerkship sites, and student educational activities. She leads the development and assessment of internal medicine curriculum, serves as faculty advisor for students pursuing a residency in internal medicine, and contributes to developing our graduate internal medicine residency programs. In addition, Dr. Landa-Galindez teaches in the second-year Musculoskeletal Systems Course and the fourth-year Medical History Through Art Elective.

She has a clinical practice at the FIU Health Faculty Group Practice located on FIU’s main campus and is also affiliated with the Baptist Health South Florida hospital system.

Dr. Landa-Galindez serves on national committees, including the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine Medical Education Research Committee and the Association of American Medical Colleges Council of Faculty and Academic Societies. In addition, she is an active Fellow of the American College of Physicians, Florida Chapter. She also has a clinical practice at the FIU Health Faculty Group Practice located at the Modesto A Maidique Campus and is affiliated with the Baptist Health South Florida hospital system.

Research Interests

Integration of ethics training; genetics education and evidence-based medicine during the clinical years of medical student education; assessment of  Entrustable  Professional Activities (EPAs) during clerkships; osteoporosis risk assessment, and the management and evaluation of outcomes post COVID-19 infection.
