Breast Health Initiative

The Breast Health Initiative (BHI) was founded by medical students at FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in 2011 to improve access to affordable breast health services and breast health education for uninsured women in Miami-Dade County.

Mammograms can save lives by detecting breast cancer early when it's easier to treat, and before it can spread or grow. Funds raised by the BHI support uninsured women enrolled in the FIU Medicine's Green Family Foundation NeighborhoodHELP program.

The Breast Health Initiative presents the 15th Annual Art Show

FIU medical students lead this annual exhibition and sale of local artwork, with proceeds supporting BHI. Funds help provide low-cost diagnostic services and breast health education to uninsured women in Miami-Dade County enrolled in the NeighborhoodHELP program.
