In Memoriam: Dr. Leonard Gralnik

The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine mourns the passing of Dr. Leonard Gralnik, associate professor of psychiatry. A dedicated clinician, educator, and mentor, Gralnik devoted his life’s work to advancing mental health and shaping the next generation of physicians.

At the College of Medicine, Gralnik served as director of the psychiatry clerkship, chief of education in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, and senior medical director of the FIU Health Faculty Group Practice.

Before joining FIU, he held prominent leadership positions at Nova Southeastern University, where he was medical director of the University Community Mental Health Center and the Student Counseling Center. He also served as vice-chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at Broward Health Medical Center. He was a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.

Gralnik’s compassion, dedication, and leadership made a profound impact on his colleagues, students, and the community he served. His contributions to the field of psychiatry and to the College of Medicine will not be forgotten.
