Ravi C. Dubey, Ph.D.

Ravi Dubey explores how ion channels and cellular factors contribute to HIV-associated chronic pain, aiming to identify new molecular targets for treatment. His Ph.D. work on potassium channels and microRNA-150 advanced understanding of virus–host interactions in HIV. Building on this, he now uses molecular, cellular, and electrophysiological approaches to uncover mechanisms driving chronic pain in HIV-related neuropathology. His long-term goal is to translate basic scientific discoveries into strategies that improve the quality of life for individuals with HIV.

Research Interests

  • The dysregulation of specific ion channels in the context of HIV infection
  • Molecular mechanisms driving these changes and their impact on neuronal excitability and pain signaling
  • Exploring novel therapeutic targets for managing chronic pain in individuals living with HIV
