The South Florida Hospital and Healthcare Association (SFHHA) has appointed Osmel “Ozzie” Delgado, CEO of the Florida International University HealthCare Network (FIU Health) and associate dean for Clinical Affairs at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (FIU Medicine), to its board of directors.

SFHHA brings together leaders from hospitals, medical schools and health care organizations across South Florida to share insights, strengthen partnerships and address the region’s most pressing health challenges. Through its work, the organization fosters collaboration across all areas of health care and supports efforts that improve services for the communities it serves.

“This appointment creates a great opportunity to contribute not only as an individual leader, but also as someone deeply engaged in building meaningful clinical and academic partnerships across South Florida,” said Delgado. “SFHHA’s mission aligns closely with the work we are doing through FIU Medicine and our partnerships with Baptist Health and Nicklaus Children’s.”

Delgado’s appointment highlights FIU Medicine’s continued presence in key regional conversations shaping health care delivery and policy. “I hope to bring a perspective that bridges academic medicine, clinical care, workforce development and community impact,” he said. “Serving on the SFHHA board is an opportunity to help advance collaborative, region-wide solutions at a broader level.”
