The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine and the Key Biscayne Community Foundation have presented the 2025 Robert Kemper Award for Professionalism in Medicine to fourth-year medical students Zachary Blashinsky and Kalin Stoyanov.
The Kemper Award honors the legacy of Dr. Robert Kemper, a physician remembered for his professionalism, empathy, and ethical commitment to medicine. Each year, the award recognizes graduating students who exemplify Dr. Kemper’s values in all aspects of their training and serve as role models for their peers.
Blashinsky recently matched into an orthopedic surgery residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, where he will care for active-duty service members, veterans, and their families. In the future, he hopes to specialize in sports medicine and preservation surgery.
Stoyanov matched into a psychiatry residency at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa. He plans to pursue a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry.
