Training the Anesthesiologists of Tomorrow
The Florida International University/Baptist Health Anesthesiology Residency at Baptist Hospital of Miami prepares physicians with a strong foundation in anesthesiology knowledge and clinical skills. The four-year program features a progressive curriculum with clinical training in general, regional, obstetric, pediatric, cardiothoracic and neuroanesthesia, as well as pain management and critical care.
Residents train in a collaborative environment while caring for a patient population with a wide range of surgical and medical needs. The program combines hands-on clinical experience with access to educational resources, simulation training and modern clinical facilities. Opportunities for research, teaching and quality improvement are integrated throughout the program to prepare graduates for careers in both academic and community practice.

Curriculum
Our curriculum is structured around block rotations to provide trainees with comprehensive learning experiences throughout the program.
Residency Prerequisites
- Applications reviewed through ERAS
- Must pass USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK, or COMPLEX 1 and 2, before February 1, 2027
- IMG Applicants must have a valid ECFMG certificate before the start of residency
- Must be eligible to register as a resident physician in the State of Florida
- The program accepts applicants requiring J-1 visa sponsorship through ECFMG.
