Based at Baptist Hospital of Miami, the Interventional Radiology – Independent Residency prepares the next generation of leaders in the field of vascular and interventional radiology.
Our residents receive hands-on experience managing a broad spectrum of complex cases within a clinical and academic setting. The training equips them with the skills to meet the needs of patients in South Florida’s diverse community and beyond, ensuring they uphold the highest standards of excellence.

Curriculum
Longitudinal Rotations
Our program incorporates several longitudinal rotations, immersing trainees in particular areas of study throughout the entire duration of the training program.

Program Application Requirements

Acceptance/admission to the program is contingent on the submission of all requested materials and meeting all eligibility requirements determined by the program.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
Residency Prerequisites
- For one-year training: A completed ACGME-accredited diagnostic radiology residency with early specialization in interventional radiology.
- For two-year training: A completed ACGME-accredited diagnostic radiology residency without early specialization in interventional radiology.
Application Requirements
- USMLE Steps 1, 2 and 3 or COMLEX Level 1 and 2
- Personal statement
- Three letters of recommendation from physicians familiar with an applicant’s character and abilities
- Letter from medical school dean or Medical Student Performance Evaluation
- Medical school transcripts
- International medical school graduates must have a valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates
