Developing Tomorrow's Surgeons
Based at Baptist Hospital of Miami, the General Surgery Residency offers residents the chance to advance their knowledge and deliver high-quality care. Residents gain extensive clinical experience, access top-tier educational resources and train in state-of-the-art facilities.
The supportive environment equips them to care for a diverse patient population with a wide range of disease states and surgical needs. Residents benefit from advanced minimally invasive procedures, including liver, bariatric, and pancreas surgeries, as well as vascular interventional approaches and significant exposure to robotic surgery.
Our comprehensive and academically rigorous curriculum is rooted in ACGME’s core competencies, incorporating Milestones 2.0 and the Core Entrustable Professional Activities framework. The didactic curriculum follows the nationally recognized SCORE web-based program, guided by faculty expertise, while the simulation curriculum, enhanced by a cutting-edge simulation center, offers valuable opportunities to develop surgical skills.
