The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) Class of 2025 just celebrated a milestone. They proudly donned their white coats as they prepare to transition from the classroom to clinical training.
“Wear your white coat with pride and always show how much you care,” said assistant professor and veteran physician assistant Dayne Alonso.
This group of 40 future physicians reflects the strong sense of community fostered at Florida International University- over 45% of the class got their undergraduate degrees from FIU. Notably, a quarter of the students are “first-gen,” the first in their families to earn a college degree.
