Dr. Eugenio Rothe honored for lifelong contributions to child and adolescent psychiatry

Dr. Eugenio Rothe, assistant clerkship director and professor at FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, has been named a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP). 

This honor, the highest level of AACAP membership, is awarded to individuals who have made significant, lifelong contributions to child and adolescent Psychiatry.  

Dr. Rothe is a founding faculty member of Wertheim Medicine and the founder and director of the nationally recognized and award-winning Medical Professionalism Course, which prepares students for the intense psychological experiences of becoming a doctor. He holds adjunct academic appointments and collaborates in research with FIU’s Stempel College of Public Health & Social Work, the Latin American and Caribbean Center, and the Cuban Research Institute.

Dr. Rothe is an internationally renowned expert on the mental health of immigrants, refugees, and minority populations.
