Combined MD and Healthcare MBA Degree

The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine and the FIU College of Business offer a combined Doctor of Medicine and Healthcare MBA.

FIU students may apply to the combined MD/Healthcare MBA degree program in their third period of medical study. However, please note that each college independently reviews and admits applicants to their programs. And only students admitted to both programs can enroll in classes in the combined program.

This combined degree program is 9 months. And students earn their Healthcare MBA between their third and fourth academic years of medical school.

The program enhances students' understanding of U.S. and international healthcare systems, knowledge of healthcare operations and management, and their ability to make complex business decisions—critical skills for any practicing physician. Students also broaden their opportunities to explore careers in pharmaceuticals, hospital administration, or physician practice management.
