Dr. Veronica M. Alvarez-Galiana, a board-certified OB/GYN and FIU Medicine Class of 2015 alumna, has been named program director of the new FIU/Baptist Health OB/GYN Residency.
She is the chair of the Miami Section of the Florida District of the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG), vice chair of its Advocacy Committee, and an ACOG McCain Advocacy Fellow. She expects to complete her MBA in 2027.
Alvarez-Galiana has served as at the University of Miami and as medical director for OB/GYN Services at Community Health of South Florida, where she completed her service through the National Health Service Corps. She also helped launch Miami’s first group prenatal care program.
