Minesh Mehta, M.D.

Dr. Minesh Mehta serves as professor and founding chair of the Department of Oncological Sciences. He leads the department’s academic mission in clinical care, education and research.

Dr. Mehta is chief of radiation oncology, deputy director, and the John and Mary Lou Dasburg Endowed Chair in Radiation Oncology at Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute. A nationally recognized expert in radiation oncology, proton therapy, and cancer research, he is board-certified in both radiation oncology and neuro-oncology.

He has designed and led numerous national and international clinical trials and has received research funding from the National Institutes of Health and the National Cancer Institute.

  • Biomarkers for treatment response in radiation oncology
  • Radiation effects on normal tissue and neurocognition
  • Image-guided and adaptive radiation therapy
