John William Uribe, M.D.

Dr. John Uribe oversees the Department of Orthopedics. In addition to his academic leadership, he serves as chief medical executive for the Baptist Health Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute.

He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, and minimally invasive surgical procedures for degenerative knee, shoulder, and elbow conditions.

Uribe is the team physician for the Florida Panthers hockey team and the Miami Dolphins football team. Before establishing private practice, Uribe was a U.S. Army lieutenant colonel and served as chief of orthopedics at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Research Interests

Minimally invasive resurfacing techniques of the knee and shoulder and ligament and tendon restoration.
