Joel Gonzalez teaches pharmacology, clinical medicine and public health in the Physician Assistant program and serves as faculty in the Green Family Foundation Neighborhood Health Education Program. He has experience in medical education across classroom and clinical settings and has taught at institutions including Miami Dade College and Florida National University.
A board-certified physician assistant, Gonzalez has practiced in internal medicine, acute care and trauma surgery. He has served on clinical committees focused on physician assistant education and leadership and has provided care in migrant and global health settings. His certifications include Certified Medical Administrative Assistant, Certified Electrocardiography Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant and Emergency First Responder.
