Geoffrey Young, M.D., Ph.D., FACS

Dr. Geoffrey D. Young lectures medical students at all levels, mentors students interested in pursuing a career in surgery and otolaryngology and is a preceptor for clinical rotations at Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute, where he is chief of neck and cancer surgery and physician lead for quality and safety.

Young specializes in the surgical treatment of head and neck cancers and skin cancers on the scalp, face, and neck. He is highly skilled in advanced techniques such as transoral robotic surgery and transoral laser microsurgery, offering enhanced precision and faster recovery times.

Young is involved in innovative clinical trials aimed at advancing the treatment of head and neck cancers. He also collaborates with FIU researchers focusing on cancer biology to deepen the understanding of disease processes and enhance diagnosis, prevention, and treatment methods. Young has presented at national and international conferences and has led several courses on communication in health care.
