Dr. Douglas S. Feltman teaches medical students in the Professional Behavior Course. Feltman is a graduate of Duke University where he received a B.A. in Chemistry, summa cum laude, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his M.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and served his residency in general psychiatry and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Cornell Medical Center/ New York Hospital-Payne Whitney Clinic. He is board-certified in general as well as child and adolescent psychiatry.

While a full-time faculty member of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Dr. Feltman served as a Director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic of Jackson Memorial Hospital, and as Director of Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He was involved in many aspects of a medical student, resident, and fellow education. He also served on the Pediatric Bioethics Committee of Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Feltman is currently a Voluntary Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Miami where he supervises fellows in child psychiatry. Feltman is a past president of the South Florida Psychiatry Society as well as past Chairman of its Continuing Medical Education Committee. He also served as Vice President of the Florida Psychiatric Society. Dr. Feltman maintains a solo, full-time private practice of child psychiatry in Coral Gables with an emphasis on psychotherapy.
