Carlos A. Salgado, M.D.

Dr. Carlos A. Salgado is the director of medical services at the FIU Center for Children and Families and practices with the FIU Health Faculty Group Practice.

He is board-certified in general psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and forensic psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

As a clinician-educator, his Salgado's scholarly work has focused on child and adolescent forensic psychiatry, the use of psychotropic medication in child welfare populations, health care disparities, and wellness in clinical learning environments. He has extensive experience in the development, management, and expansion of graduate medical education programs. He is the founding program director for Citrus Health Network Psychiatry Residency.
