Allison Saavedra contributes to the History and Physical Examination (HAPE) clinical assessment curriculum. She lectures on dermatology, ophthalmology, ear, nose, and throat (otolaryngology), cardiology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, reproductive health, neurology and musculoskeletal topics. She also supports skills labs and Professional Education for SAI Auditors (PESA) examinations.
In addition to teaching, she mentors PA students in both the didactic and clinical phases and serves as a capstone adviser. Her academic interests include curriculum development, assessment design and improving early clinical skills training to better prepare students for rotations and the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE).
