Biography
Dr. Shweta Akhouri serves as the director of the Family Medicine Clerkship and the Population Health elective course. She teaches clinical skills to first- and second-year medical students and oversees student community household visits through the Green Family Foundation Neighborhood Health Education Learning Program (NeighborhoodHELP).
Dr. Akhouri also practices primary care and obesity medicine at the FIU Health Faculty Group Practice on FIU’s main campus. She is an active member of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine and serves as a regional lead for the American Medical Women’s Association.
