Adam J. Rauckhorst, Ph.D.

Adam Rauckhorst is a researcher studying mitochondrial regulation of cardiovascular metabolism, with a focus on nutrient flux, redox balance, and metabolic signaling under both physiological and pathological conditions. His lab is at the Florida International University Center for Translational Science in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Using multidisciplinary and collaborative approaches, his research combines mass spectrometry-based metabolomics and stable isotope tracing to uncover mechanistic links between metabolism, disease, and cell state transitions.

Before joining FIU in 2025, Rauckhorst completed his postdoctoral training with Eric Taylor at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, where he investigated mitochondrial carrier function in obesity, diabetes, and organ injury.
