Dear Family and Friends,
We are thrilled to announce the plans for the ninth annual Family Weekend on Saturday, February 10, 2024. You know more than anyone how hard we have worked to get to this point in our lives. From high school to undergrad, through MCAT studying and the application process, up to our acceptance letters, you have been there all along the way. Now that we’re here, we seldom get to share with you exactly what we do in medical school. You hear our stories, but here is the chance to come to see and experience it for yourself.
Join us for a day that promises to be both informative and entertaining as we give you an inside look at what life as a medical student is like. You don’t want to miss it.

Reconnect
From beginning to end, the goal of this day is to showcase our students while allowing you to enjoy time with yours. We want you to have fun, socialize, and get an inside look at the place where your student spends so much time as a physician in training.
A Day in the Life
On Saturday morning, following a meet and greet, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in a variety of breakout sessions. You’ll observe and learn some of the things your student works with from day to day (we’ll leave out the biochemistry lectures). Options will include anatomy demonstrations, lab simulations, and more. You’ll be able to participate in simulations run by our amazing medical students and hear from students about research and community projects they’re directly involved in.

Payment, Refund, and Transfer Policy
Tickets are non-refundable. Registration may be transferred to another participant if notified in writing to msc@fiu.edu no later than one week prior to the event. Funds raised will support student events and special initiatives which benefit the entire student body.

The event will be held in person on the FIU Modesto A Maidique campus.
