Training the Hematologists and Medical Oncologists
of Tomorrow

The FIU/Baptist Health Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship provides a rigorous, comprehensive training experience that prepares fellows for careers in academic and community practice. Fellows gain broad exposure to malignant and benign hematologic and oncologic conditions through high-volume, multidisciplinary clinical care.

Training takes place alongside board-certified hematologist-oncologists within Baptist Health’s patient- and family-centered environment, spanning inpatient and longitudinal outpatient settings. Fellows develop expertise across solid tumor oncology, leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and bone marrow transplant, with an emphasis on evidence-based care, procedural skills, and progressive clinical autonomy.

Supported by state-of-the-art facilities and dedicated mentorship, the program promotes scholarly activity, interdisciplinary collaboration, and lifelong learning.
