Doctors of Tomorrow

Doctors of Tomorrow is a week-long summer enrichment program for college students interested in applying to medical school. This free residential program aims to help prepare a diverse body of students with the knowledge and skills needed to pursue a career in medicine.

The program will take place at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine from Sunday, May 19 through Friday, May 24, 2024.

Program Eligibility

Applicants to the DOT program must meet the following requirements to be considered:

Background

  • Florida resident
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent resident
  • First-generation college students (whose parents have not earned a college degree)
    OR
  • Low socioeconomic status
    OR
  • Students with diverse backgrounds

Academic

  • Minimum completion of 60 credits
  • Minimum completion of two semesters of biology and two semesters of chemistry
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

Application Requirements

  1. Submit online application
  2. A letter of recommendation from a science faculty member or health care provider. You must provide the recommender's email address and we will send them a request for recommendation.

The application deadline is March 8, 2024.

Please note that you may not concurrently enroll in Summer A or C classes with this program.

The DOT program was a huge milestone in my journey of becoming a future physician. It reaffirmed my confidence and capabilities regardless of my socioeconomic status or skin color. And the faculty and guest speakers were extremely insightful. I am forever thankful to have been selected for the DOT program, and I hope to be a part of the College of Medicine in the near future!
