Florida Residency Classification for Tuition

Although preference will be given to residents of the State of Florida, well-qualified residents of other states will also be considered. HWCOM’s tuition structure is two-tiered, reflecting resident and non-resident rates.

A Florida resident for tuition purposes is a person who has established and maintained Florida domicile for at least 12 months before the first day of Orientation. Applicants claiming Florida residency should refer to residency guidelines.

Once an applicant is accepted, HWCOM will require acceptable documentation to prove residency classification which will determine tuition. Failure to provide valid documentation can change an applicant's residency classification and tuition accordingly. This initial residency classification is part of the pre-matriculation process
