Hereditary Cancer Application Study
The primary objective of the hereditary cancer application is to improve the usability of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines for hereditary cancer screening. This would increase the number of patients who get screened, which in turn would increase the number of patients who are eligible for genetic testing and genetic counseling.
We are implementing a research project to examine the usability of the application in identifying individuals who are at risk for hereditary cancer compared to the current NCCN guidelines or other evaluation. We will be examining the accessibility, usability, feasibility, and the number of patients identified eligible for testing for hereditary cancer genetic mutations using this novel application in comparison to the current methods used by the providers. Through this we aim to show that our application helps providers efficiently identify patients and increases the number of individuals identified as eligible.
