Institute of NeuroImmune Pharmacology & Center for Personalized NanoMedicine
The foundation of Institute of NeuroImmune Pharmacology (INIP) and Center of Personalized Nanomedicine (CPNM) was based on the vision of creating a unique program that not only focuses on scientific advancement but also trains the next generation by developing competitive students and faculty.
The mission of the program is to perform state-of-the-art basic and translational research within the fields of immunology, substance use/abuse, HIV, CNS diseases and its therapeutic application using innovative nanotechnology approaches. In addition to the mission of education for students and junior faculty, INIP fosters scientific collaborations, which are aligned with FIU’s mission and 2020 Strategic Plan.
In 2014, INIP was selected and honored by FIU for Excellence in Research, Education and Service Award amongst other existing FIU Centers of Excellence. The CPNM gained global recognition due to its great initiative for the Annual Symposium of Personalized Nanomedicine aiming to fostering interdisciplinary research and collaborations while the bridging the new trend of science and technology in order to advance in the field of medicine-vision of Professor Madhavan Nair.
