Osmel “Ozzie” Delgado has been appointed chief executive officer of the Florida International University HealthCare Network (FIU Health) and associate dean of Clinical Affairs at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. He brings over 15 years of experience managing hospital and clinic operations, with strategic planning and process improvement expertise.
Delgado will oversee FIU Health’s clinical operations in his new role, ensuring compliance with quality, risk, and regulatory standards. He will align the college’s clinical, educational, and research missions while directing the development of clinical service lines and supporting governance and strategic planning for the FIU-HCN Board.
Delgado’s career includes roles as COO of the Healthcare Outcomes Performance Company, managing ambulatory operations nationwide, and COO of the Cleveland Clinic Florida Region, overseeing 10,000 employees and leading key initiatives like the Epic EMR implementation for inpatient and outpatient services and the expansion of transplant programs.
Delgado holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Nova Southeastern University and an MBA from Florida Atlantic University. He has also served as an adjunct professor at FIU and other institutions.
