Ms. Bernasconi is a Research Technician in the Dimitroff lab assisting on new directions in cancer research and in studies on the fundamentals of a functional immune system. She studied microbiology with a focus in molecular biology and pharmacology at the University of Vermont. Ms. Bernasconi transferred and graduated from Long Island University. During her studies, she worked as a student research assistant focusing on the study of miRNA biomarkers of prostate cancer. Ms. Bernasconi also spent time in the Department of Biochemistry at UVM in the Laboratory of Dr. Francklyn on elucidating the function of tRNAs in autophagy. Ms. Bernasconi brings her diverse knowledge and positive outlook to ongoing studies of melanoma research and lymphocyte biology in the Dimitroff lab. In her free time, Ms. Bernasconi enjoys cooking and connecting with nature.
