Biography
Dr. Amilcar Castellano-Sanchez serves as the course director and educator for the Pathology and Hematology Units and contributes to several other courses across the MD curriculum.
He also teaches three undergraduate courses at FIU Honors College: History of Medicine Through Art, Adult and Pediatric Topics in Narrative Medicine, and the France Honors College Study Abroad Program.
Previously, Dr. Castellano-Sanchez was the coordinator of Teaching and Research in the Department of Pathology at Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he taught pathology residents and fellows.
He has also served as a docent at the Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum at FIU and is deeply engaged in exploring the intersection of medicine and the arts.
