Vivian Obeso, M.D., is Associate Professor of Medicine, Associate Dean for Curriculum and Medical Education, Co–course Director of the Clinical Medicine Course, and Medical Director of the Albert and Debbie Tano Simulation Center at FIU HWCOM. She completed her M.D. degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and residency training in Internal Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
After her residency she completed a two-year fellowship in Research in Medical Education at the University of Miami Gordon Center, a Center of Excellence in Research in Medical Education at the UM School of Medicine. She later became Assistant Director of Clinical Skills training at the Gordon Center where she continued clinical practice, clinical teaching and focused her academic work on simulation, curriculum development, and assessment. Obeso has publications in simulation, assessment and multiple computer-based educational programs. She has been invited to present yearly at the American College of Physicians Conference. Obeso was the leading consultant in the development and implementation of the Clinical Skills curriculum at FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.
