Mariana Viera-Navarro is a certified physician assistant with over 20 years of clinical experience. She is an assistant professor and the assistant director of clinical education in the Physician Assistant (PA) program. She helps manage the clinical curriculum and co-leads all clinical clerkship courses. She also teaches core topics such as dermatology, endocrinology, and immunology, emergency medicine topics related to food allergies and anaphylaxis, and human behavior with an emphasis on human trafficking.
Before joining FIU in 2021, she worked extensively in allergy, immunology, and functional medicine. She also served as clinical director of a high-complexity immunology lab, which received six consecutive Laboratory Excellence Awards from COLA.
