Mr. Rodolfo Carbonell joined Florida International University (FIU) Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM) as part of the Information Technology department in August 2011. Mr. Carbonell serves as the IT Enterprise Support Supervisor and manages the operations involving server and storage administration, database administration, applications support and development and infrastructure support. He also serves as the Systems Administrator where he designs, implements and maintains the network infrastructure and applications of the HWCOM.
Prior to joining the College of Medicine, Mr. Carbonell was a Network Engineer for four years at Jacobson Consulting Applications, Inc. His role included designing, implementing and maintaining the network infrastructure and applications for the company’s client base. In addition, he was responsible for managing the IT staff. He also worked at Hudson County Community College for seven years as a Network Engineer where he was also responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining the network infrastructure for the institution.
Mr. Carbonell graduated from New Jersey Institute of Technology with a Bachelors’ degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology with the concentration in Computer Systems in May 2004. He also holds the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certifications.
