Andres Rodriguez, M.D., is uniquely qualified for the role of Assistant Dean for Student Services at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine—he’s an alumnus (Class of 2015). Rodriguez oversees student personal and professional counseling, career guidance, student organizations, community outreach, international experiences, health and wellness programs, and the Panther Learning Communities. Before his current position, he taught clinical skills and led case-based learning sessions in multiple subjects, engaging medical students in all four years. 

Rodriguez also provides academic advising and serves as rotation director of Family and Community Medicine for the FIU/West Kendall Baptist Hospital Family Medicine residency program. Additionally, he sees patients at the Mobile Health Center that serves households enrolled in the Green Family Foundation NeighborhoodHELP program in South Miami.

Rodriguez, who joined the College of Medicine in 2018 as a faculty member, has the distinction of being a triple Panther—he completed his undergraduate, graduate, and residency training with FIU.
