Anna Virani, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Family and Community Medicine in the Department of Humanities, Health, and Society. She joined the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in January 2018.  She teaches medical students at all levels and serves as an Academic Advisor.  Dr.  Virani also participates in the Green Family Foundation Neighborhood Health Education Learning Program (NeighborhoodHELP) household visits with medical, nursing, physician assistant, and social work students in underserved communities throughout Miami-Dade County. After pursuing undergraduate work in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry at Florida International University (FIU), she went to medical school at Ross University School of Medicine. Dr. Virani completed a Family Medicine residency at University of Oklahoma Family Medicine Residency in Lawton, Oklahoma. After her residency, Dr. Virani joined TeamHealth Hospitalist Group in Pembroke Pines, Florida.  She worked as a hospitalist at Memorial Hospital West for 3 ½ years prior to her academic faculty position at Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.
